Re-Connections Series

This morning I received an email from a fairly new author, Elle Dawson, requesting if I could review her newest book.  Elle’s second book released yesterday on Amazon and she provided me the links so that I could read the blurbs  there and see if they would be something I would review.  They are…..I am.

The Anniversary Gift – Re-Connections 1

“With her tenth wedding anniversary barely two weeks away, the only gift Kate wants is to spend a week alone. After all, life with Ethan has become so cold and distant, it’s a strain just being together.

But Ethan wants just the opposite and his indecent proposal at dinner is a shock that rocks Kate’s world off its axis and into a sensual world of possibility.

Will Kate fulfill Ethan’s fantasy? Is their relationship even worth saving? Just how far is she willing to go to save her marriage?

The Anniversary Gift is a story of two people struggling to rekindle the love and passion that brought them together to begin with. “

The Birthday Gift – Re-Connections 2

Married by the thinnest of definitions, Melanie has fallen into a deep well of despair, having given up on her marriage … and herself … struggling to keep it all together for the sake of her two children.

Then, she bumps into a new world of sensual possibilities and teeters on the tightrope of love and betrayal, of yearning and re-discovery.

Elle has a warning on her second book that states: “The Birthday Gift is a story of a broken marriage, an affair and a women’s tortured choice. The book explores the complexities of love, betrayal, guilt and forgiveness. If you are searching for a fairytale, don’t read this book. If you are searching for a real life, raw but beautiful love story, I invite you to join Melanie on this journey.”

I agree with her assessment that both books are raw but beautiful love stories.  I could relate to many things said in each book.  Neglect and complacency happen in many marriages.  Some choose to spice up their lives together and others try to find that spice with someone else.  I could easily see myself at certain times in each of these books.  The one thing I disagree with Ms. Dawson is that this is not a fairytale.  To me, they are…….if you don’t want me to ruin the ending for you ………..you can stop reading and know I give each book ♥♥♥♥.

To me a Fairytale in general end in “And they lived happily ever after.”  And here both Kate and Melaine find their HEAs.  Ms. Dawson kept me engaged and interested and kept it realistic through both books, which I read in the span of 3 hours.  I look forward to more stories from Elle in the near future.
