    My Review

Grind is the second book in this Legal Affairs trilogy.  Clash was released on 4/7/15 and my review can be found in the archive.  Last we saw Cal and Macy, they were in Cal’s office and you could literally feel the electricity zooming around.  They ultimately felt it too!!! LOL

In this book we learn more about why Macy is the way she is.  We find out we all would like to take her family to the woodshed and beat them.  I found myself admiring Cal more and more with every page.  It was evident how much he loves Macy.  He is so patient with her and he knows how to handle a woman.  I mean damn I wanted him to tie me up. Pick this series and read it!

Yield will be released on 5/5/15 and I cannot wait to find out what happens. Grind and Yield are full length novels, while Clash is a novella.

     Synopsis

Grind (verb): to weaken or destroy gradually

Macy Carrington is not the woman I once thought her to be.

What she does not allow her heart to feel, she gives with her body. The sex between us is explosive and depraved. I’ve done things with her that would never have crossed my wildest imagination, and I can’t ever seem to get enough.

But now I want more from her. I want to figure out her dark secret, expose it and then help her to heal from it. I know, without a doubt, that Macy is capable of love, and I will grind her down until I make her accept the truth of it.

Grind (verb): to wear down, polish, or sharpen by friction

Cal Carson is not the man I once thought him to be.

Strong, determined, sexy as hell and a beast in the bedroom. He is every woman’s fantasy.

    He is my fantasy.

But no matter how hard Cal tries to grind me down, my heart and secrets are mine and mine alone.

  • Cover Reveal: Secret by Kindle Alexander

    Synopsis

Tristan Wilder, self-made millionaire and devastatingly handsome CEO of Wilder-Nation is on the verge of a very lucrative buyout. With tough negotiations ahead, he’s armed with his acquisition pitch, ready to launch the deal of a lifetime. There’s just one glitch. The last thing he expects is to fall for the hot business owner he’s trying to sway.

Dylan Reeves, computer science engineer and founder of the very successful social media site, Secret, is faced with a life-altering decision. A devoted family man with three kids and a wife, Dylan has been living a secret for years. Fiercely loyal to his convictions, his boundaries blur after meeting the striking owner of the corporation interested in acquiring his company. For the first time in his life, reckless desire consumes him when the gorgeous computer mogul makes an offer he can’t refuse.

     Excerpt
After a few minutes of staring at Dylan, who hadn’t looked his way since he entered the conference room, Tristan cleared his throat, stopping the flow of the presentation. “Can you all give me a few minutes alone with Mr. Reeves?”

He could feel every eye turned his way. Dylan was slower to respond. He’d been reading from the contract and lifted his head, business clearly on his mind.  But the minute their gazes met, Tristan got why Dylan had avoided eye contact. His gaze held a mixture of both heat and need. Sparks flew between the two of them and Tristan smiled.

“You heard him,” Landry said and began shooing everyone out. As the last person left, Landry came to the center of the table, standing between the two of them.  He clearly thought Tristan’s request hadn’t included him.

“Landry, I need a private discussion with Mr. Reeves,” Tristan said, rising from his seat at the end of the table. Landry came immediately to him, standing in front of him, blocking Dylan from seeing or hearing anything he said.

“I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Landry whispered so quietly Tristan barely heard him. “We almost have them, I can see it.”

Tristan cut his eyes over to Landry’s and motioned with his head for him to move along out the door with everyone else. Landry’s brow furrowed and he started to shake his head. Tristan stared at him with intense attitude until he finally left the room.

Tristan had no doubt he’d stand right outside that door. There wasn’t too much of Wilder, Inc. that Landry wasn’t included in, and he certainly wouldn’t like being put out of a meeting he’d orchestrated. Tristan moved to a chair directly beside Dylan who hadn’t uttered a single word since his request for privacy.

“You look nice today,” Tristan said quietly, smiling as Dylan’s cheeks grew red.

“Is that why you made everyone leave?”

“No, of course not. I could have just told you later, but that whole look’s perfect on you. The hair’s hot. Pinstripes fit your frame remarkably well. You look taller, more intimidating. Great look for negotiations or the cover of GQ. You could do both.” Tristan scooted closer. “Did you get my flowers?” he asked even quieter.

“I did. Thank you, but that was a risky move,” Dylan said, clearly ignoring the compliment.

“I wrote and sealed the card myself. What did you do with the flowers?” Tristan leaned forward, then moved in a little more, smelling Dylan’s cologne. That had Dylan pushing back in his chair.

“I gave them to the concierge that helped me this morning,” Dylan answered and then backtracked. “I didn’t think I’d be in my room very much and didn’t want them to go to waste.”

“I figured you’d do something like that. It’s why I picked those colors. So that means you’re coming with me tonight?” Tristan asked, his eyes still focused directly on Dylan’s.

“We’ll see how things go today. I’m not sure about all this. You lowballed me and I was just reading about the staffing…” Dylan started, but Tristan lifted a hand to Dylan’s lips to stop his words. He let his fingers linger as he spoke.

“I don’t want to talk business yet. I honestly was only informed of the changes to personnel when I walked in today. From this point forward, you and I will decide how this sale goes, no one else, but before we do, I want to put personal before business because they are two separate entities between us.

“Will you please go with me tonight? I need to cancel some things if you’re not coming,”
Tristan added at Dylan’s skeptical look.

    About the Author

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.

    Excerpt
It’d been two days. Two days of unanswered calls, unanswered texts. Two days of driving by her house day and night, only to find it empty. I spoke with her boss at Spencer’s, and he too said she had taken some time off.

With each day my heart sank a little more with the thought that I had thrown away the best thing that had ever happened to me. This was on me, completely. I acted like the biggest dick when I should have just talked to her.

“Hey, numb nuts, you still pouting?” Kade shouted as he exited the French doors onto the back patio.

“I need to change my locks,” I grumbled. Resting my head back against the chair, I closed my eyes, attempting to block him out.

“Don’t blame me for your massive amount of shit. I’m just here for the pool—oh, and the free beer.” He chuckled as he pulled his shirt up and over his head, then took off and jumped, cannonballing into the pool.

“Whew,” he yelled out just before hitting the water. The cool splash flowed backward, drenching the entire patio. All I could do was shake my head at the ass. He was doing everything possible to pull me from my slump. I picked up my phone and checked once again for any response only to come up empty.

“Give the girl some time. I know it’s driving you crazy, not being able to fix this, but you need to try to give her some space.”

Kade climbed out of the pool, shaking his hair, once again spraying water in every direction. Cocky son of a bitch chuckled as I jumped from my chair and stepped back.

    My Review

Sia went through a traumatic experience, and with her brother, got through it but never got closure.  For years she sees Predator in underground MMA  fights and she is smitten.

Ray (Predator) has always seen Sia.  And one night, he finally gives in to the pull he has to her.  She makes him feel out of control, and makes him want to put down roots.

I love bad boys with big hearts.  Ray is a badass with a heart of gold and I love that he can’t keep away from Sia.  That his love for her is so strong. for her that he has to protect her, even if it is from himself.

Sia is a survivor.  But it isn’t until she decides to let Ray in, that she truly finds that she has the strength she needs to reclaim her life and move on.

I teared up in spots and wanted to smack Ray a few times.  Only fabulous writers can elicit such strong feelings..  To me, that is a sign of a great book.  I look forward to reading more from this author.

  • When You Were Mine by Michelle Roth

    My Review

We originally met Cora and Jamie in the first book of the series, In Full Bloom.  Just when you thought they would get together, Cora and Jamie went their separate ways so that they could concentrate on their careers.  When Jamie realizes that New York, just was not for him, he comes back home.

Cora takes one look at Jamie and knows that she is still in love with Jamie.  She doesn’t really trust her judgement though because of a cheating asshole that she nearly married.

Jamie is just drawn to Cora.  The hug they share that first night said it all.  The chemistry never faded.  With a helpful nudge from family, we got to see them just fall  back in love with each other, or at least admit that they never stopped loving each other..

When a revenge seeker holts Cora’s declaration, Ms. Roth decided that she had to take my heart and squeeze it and make me tear up.  I felt Jamie’s despair like it was my own.   Another touching story about second chances at love.
