    DefendingDefending by Jami Davenport
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Grady and Aspen might have been brought together be art, but their bond goes deeper than skin deep. Both have members of their family go missing, so they really get “it”. One of the two gets closure on more than one front. The other does not. Isn’t that how it is in reality? Not everyone always gets a total HEA. Luckily when it come to love, Grady and Aspen DO get their HEA. Love how there is more than one story line in this book, however, I hope it resolves in the next book.

Dragon Secret (D.O.A. #10)Dragon Secret by Cree Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wiz always knew his dragon was special and had secrets. When a serial bully keeps telling boys to kill themselves and they do, Wiz feelslike it isall his fault. With the help of the newest members of DOA, they try and find out who the bully is. During the investigation, Wiz finds out that the detectives are his mates. Together with his mates and his secretive dragon, they try to find the bully and save future boys from death and find out their dragon’s big secret. I understand being bully. I was the fat girl for years and was made fun of it until I was in tears. Suicide is not the answer to bullying even though it might seem to be. If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, please call or text 988 for help.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Avery and Malik are workmates. Avery always supressed a side of himself, which is probably why his relationships with women always failed. When thrown together on another film set, Avery gives in to that side. Malik is so sweet and patient with Avery. Together, they discover sides of themselves they kept hidden for a long time. Self discovery and passion leads to a book you need to read.

Dragon PrinceDragon Prince by Cree Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who knew there was another DOA group? Blade and some of the other Poconos crew travel to New Mexico to help DOA2 find missing people and find out the identity of a mystery man that showed up at their door. I really love the relationship Blade has with his dragon. Best friend and more. I know each DOA member’s dragon shares their soul, but Blade’s is deeper than that. I also really enjoy the new species of paranormal we are interoduced to. Orion is sent by Heck to help all of DOA for what they are about to face.

Seeing Is Believing (P.D.A. #1)Seeing Is Believing by Cree Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If anyone has read any of my reviews of this author, you know how much I enjoy any new world she creates. This new series is no different for me. Paranormal Detective Agency (PDA) is a new group of humans and paranormals who look at crimes and find out who did it? Was it really a paranormal or someone trying to sabatoge them now that humans know about the Paranormal world. Vampires, Psychics, humans and shifters all work together to have them all live in peace. But we all know that isn’t how things go. I love how Soren and Ashe worked seemlessly together before they knew they were mates. Their souls sang to each other. Love that saying. Can’t wait for the next book!

Wolf's Little Imp (Bratburg Daddies Book 3)Wolf’s Little Imp by Cooper McKenzie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The name of the book confuses me as the main male character calls his love his “Little Warrior”, but that is the only criticism I can give this book. Poppy only defended herself against a creep, and is given a choice of either going to Bratburg or work with the creep to fix damage to his club. You know what her choice was! Diego knows Poppy is his from the start. She is into Paranormal Daddy books, so his secret isn’t upsetting to her. I thought it funny that Poppy calls Diego “Papi”. Poppy/Papi. Some action from a bully and a great amount of passion in a cabin makes me want to read the next book as soon as possible.

Drake (Pittsburgh Titans #5)Drake by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Brienne needs to make sure the Titans comes back from tragedy. Not doing so is not an option. After leaving negotiations to other people with no acceptable results, Brienne embraces the saying “If you want something done and done right, do it yourself.” I love her ‘get it done’ attitude, yet she isn’t afraid to say she is sorry for something she did. Drake was wrongly cancelled from the NHL because of his ex-wife. Even when vindicated, no one wanted him. He was content being a retired single father to his boys, until Brienne came to see him. Now he is a Titan and he and Brienne cannot stay away from each other and really don’t want to. Friends with benefits becomes more. Drake and Brienne melts the ice and heart.

Pax (Sin City Saints Hockey #3)Pax by Brenda Rothert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who better to have a fake relationship with than the woman you have had a crush on since you first saw her at your best friend/teammates home. Pax has had this crush on Kylie but knew he couldn’t act on this crust for two reasons. One, she is his best friend’s/teammate’s sister, he would probably kill Pax. Two, she just lost her husband and he isn’t sure if she is ready for a new relationship. When the new team owner’s daughter sets her sights on Pax, he begs both his friend and Kylie to have Kylie as his “girlfriend”. Both agree. This fake relationship becomes more. This is a really touching story that just endeared Pax to my heart.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kace was the person sent to kill Gio in the previous book and Kace’s brother. Thankfully, Kace learned the truth for himself and instead of killing Gio, he kills his father and in the process, himself. Because he gave the ultimate sacrifice, Heck and the powers that be decided he was worthy of redemption and offered him to become a member of the DOA. Axl had a hard and difficult life. His only joy was going on rides on Kace’s dragon. After his brother, Deak’s death, the leader of the Tiger Sharks confronts Axl looking for something Deak supposedly gave him. Dragon's Little Minx (Bratburg Daddies Book 1)Dragon’s Little Minx by Cooper McKenzie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Talia has been abused by her family her whole life. When sent to Bratburg for reeducation, Talia made sure that it would be the total escape from her family. One look at Talia and Lonergan know Talia was his. Once he got her to Bratburg, she would not be going back to the abusive family, no matter what her father believes. This is such a cute story with great world building. My favorite part is the fact that her stuffie was Lonergan and she didn’t even know that he has been comforting her since she got him.

  • Code Name: Omega by Sawyer Bennett

Kellen is someone I would fall in love with.  Yes, he is a nice guy who does what he can for others.  But, his love for his dog is EVERYTHING! Kellen even calls Bubba “Omega”  “the love of his life”. That alone makes my heart skip a beat.  Abby has a heart of platinum for animals.  She will do anything for them especially the ones in puppy mills, legal or not.  When her big heart puts her in danger, it is Kellen and Jameson Security to the rescue of not only her but those dogs.  She achieve her goals and finds love at the same time.

I joined the team at Jameson Force Security three months ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. Leaving behind the Marine Corps together, my dog Omega and I made the cross-country trek to Pittsburgh for an exciting new career. Now I get to spend my days doing dangerous missions with my team and Omega gets to spend his days relaxing, unless there are explosives to be sniffed, and then he’s all paws on deck.

When Omega—who I affectionately refer to as Bubba—snacks on something he most definitely shouldn’t have, an emergency trip to the vet introduces me to Abigail Blackburn. She’s a little quirky, a lot smart, and completely captivating. She also has a penchant for trouble and when Abby makes it her own personal mission to expose the puppy mill industry, she finds herself mixed up with unsavory characters who aren’t happy with her efforts to cut into their profits

This seedy underbelly is a dangerous place, particularly for a well-intentioned, yet somewhat naïve, small-town vet. What began as peaceful protests outside of local pet stores has escalated into something that threatens Abby’s safety, and I refuse to sit by and watch her get hurt. Somehow this raven-haired beauty has gotten under my skin, and I don’t hesitate to call in my teammates at Jameson to help keep her safe.

Now I find myself trying to balance my need to protect Abby while helping her successfully complete her mission, but also redirecting her focus long enough to show her that I’ve completely fallen for her. One thing is certain—this is going to be my toughest assignment yet.

  • Gage by LeAnn Ashers

I love how strong River is, she is fierce!  I also love her relationship with her dad.  The first meeting of Gage and River is priceless and I love how he just knows she is it for him.  The way they quip with each other is hilarious.  I love when a man is murderous for the woman he wants and loves, then turns to her and is nothing but a big teddy bear.  It is so endearing to me.  The fact that Gage kidnaps River from her kidnappers was epic  Love at first sight MC Style!  Read this book twice it was so good!

    River

Who gets kidnapped twice in one day? Apparently, me. That’s who. But what I expected even less was to actually fall in love with my second kidnapper: Gage, the President of the Grim Sinners Rebels MC.

He was someone I never knew I needed.

    He rescued me.

    He became my home.

    His MC became my family.

Unfortunately, our new life together was in danger. The President of the rival MC decided to step up his game against the Grim Sinners Rebels. What he didn’t realize, however, was that the devil himself knew better. You don’t play chicken with the reaper.

    And the reaper was Gage.

  • Level Up by Kindle Alexander

This  book was one I was looking forward to.  It wasn’t what I expected in a book about Ducky, but I don’t mean it in a bad way.  He had a certain style that he let others take from him.  Thankfully Chad love Ducky more when he was himself.  It took them a long time to stop dancing around each other and be themselves.  We get to revisit old friends, which is something I always love about series books.  I cannot to see what Kindle has in store for us next.

Duncan “Ducky” Reigns, metalhead and hardcore gamer, has spent his life railing against the establishment. But now when he looks at himself in the mirror that’s not the person he sees. Though he and his brother have worked hard to create a successful multi-million-dollar company, he’s lost himself and his identity in the process.

Chad Reeves, successful in his own right, has achieved every goal he’s set for himself. But living up to the legacy of his uber-successful father feels like an impossible task. When the heavy burden of a lifelong secret begins to unravel, he’s forced to face the truth. He’s lacking in what matters the most and only one thing can make it right.

Sometimes a simple reboot is all it takes to realize the answers are right in front of you. A soul-searching trip to paradise changes everything for two best friends… if they are brave enough to follow their hearts and reach for the Level Up.

Compassion hinted in Teri Reeves serious expression. “Then who is he?” she asked as if it were a given next option.

Hell, maybe it was. She had lived with his father for eighteen years, knowing he was gay for most of that time.

Technically, her question should have made this easier on Chad, but it didn’t. With all the mean-spirited harassment he’d received from the kids in his high school when his father came out, and the untold amount of bullshit he’d had to deal with when their private family affairs began to be splattered all over the local news, made talking about a long-term relationship with another man anything but casual…

    Whoa. Step way back.

Wait a damn minute. Long-term relationship? That thought had struck him like a blow from out of nowhere.

Wow, what a moment for an epiphany. He ran unsteady hands nervously through his hair. A long-term commitment from Ducky? Is that what he wanted?

Ducky had never given him any clue that he was anything other than a straight man. Not any of those telltale signs indicating interest in the same sex. The bigger problem was that Ducky hadn’t spoken to him in days. Not one word to all of Chad’s texts apologizing for his unguarded comment.

His heart dipped then fluttered, sending a shiver from his head to his toes and racing back up his spine again. He didn’t like Ducky ignoring him, not one damn bit. Anyone but Ducky.

“Ducky,” he finally whispered. Funny how saying the name out loud seemed to validate his feelings, giving him an inner boost.

His mother blinked then opened her mouth to speak. No words came as she blinked again, closing her mouth. Her head tilted quizzically, and her hand lifted about six inches from her head. She shook her fingers. He took it to indicate Ducky’s mop of curls.

First smile in days. “Yes. Except he’s changed, but I’m really into those curls.”

Chad reached for the cell phone in his back pocket, bringing up an image of Ducky that he’d saved from The Game Awards. He turned the screen to show his mother Ducky’s new look.

She pretty much had the same reaction he had. A moment of pure confusion as she stared at the screen before she took the phone from his hand, using her fingers to zoom in on Ducky’s face. “This is him? He’s very handsome, Chad.” Her brow wrinkled as she glanced up. “You two have similar coloring, but your hair’s darker now.”

Chad nodded and looked down at Ducky’s photo still on the screen. “He and I talk all the time. Mostly online and text, but it’s moved to phone calls now too. We’ve never met face-to-face, but he’s my best friend. I share almost everything with him, yet he didn’t tell me he’d made these changes to his appearance. That’s why I said it wasn’t him during the podcast. It caught me off guard.”

“Because you’re attracted to him?” she asked, looking at the screen again, tapping it to keep the photo up.

“I was attracted to him before he did all this. He’s a really good guy, Mom. Smarter than anyone I know. We’ve been friends since we were on Xbox Live together in early junior high. I think he surpasses Dad with his knowledge of code. Ducky can hack into anything. We’d all be online together and watch him do it when we were younger.” Chad took his phone from his mother, drawing her attention back to him. She needed to hear what he planned to say. “I’ve been dealing with my attraction to guys since way before Dad came out. Ducky was the first guy I was into. I’ve never stopped being into him. He’s funny in this unintentional way, but he laughs at himself. He’s real. The most real person I’ve ever known. I’ve never met anyone else like him.”

“I never had any idea you had these feelings. When I asked the question, I didn’t really expect this response,” his mom said in that way only mothers used when they spoke of the regret of missing something so big. “You were young. You must have been afraid and unsure.”

“Hell no, I wasn’t afraid. Sorry,” Chad said, ignoring the critical arching of her brow at the use of the swear word. “Do you think any child you raised could be afraid of anything?”

He pushed off the counter, tucking his cell phone back into his pocket. “I’ve been with guys, Mom. Lots of ’em. And that’s all I’m going to say so don’t ask me any questions.” He couldn’t contain the shiver running through him at the awkwardness of admitting even that much to his mother about his sex life.

“You’ve been with women, too. Right?” His mom stammered, clearly questioning everything she knew about Chad. “Don’t answer that. It doesn’t matter. How have I never known these things about you before? I tried to be an observant, present mother for your whole life. I love you.” She looked pitiful, causing Chad to give a good laugh as his mother took her seat and lifted her glass of iced tea, taking several long gulps.

“Mom, all of us are very well-adjusted. You and Dad are great parents. Kids don’t tell their parents everything. You know that. And it wasn’t easy on any of us to have Dad’s sexuality splashed out for the world to see. I get that social media doesn’t hold weight, but when your father owns a social platform that’s bought by a technology giant like Wilder and then those two men become a couple…the children involved are gonna get some backlash.”

“Oh, I need something stronger than flavored tea.”

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!
I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.
