Diablo (Sons of Sangue Washington #1)Diablo by Patricia A. Rasey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book story easily flowed from the Oregon SoS to the Washington Chapter of SoS. Diablo was a Devil, but when La Paz Cartel reenters his life and puts his Angel in danger, he shows how much of a Devil he can be. I loved that we get to see the Oregon Sons in this series as well. Granted Vlad wasn’t in it, but it was a really good story. (I am VERY partial to Vlad!) I cannot wait to see how Diablo and the Sons handle Tyler. That is the only loose end that I feel needs to be tied up in this book.

  • Maybe We Will by Melissa Foster

Take a little time to smell and see the roses. You never know when you won’t be able to any more. Thankfully, Aiden had Remi who made him take a much needed vacation. Abby too needed to stop and figure out what she wanted in her life. For Abby, home was definitely where her heart is. Once Aiden and Abby meet, they barely were apart. I don’t think he stated at the resort more than a couple of nights. The two make dreams come true for the island. I love how the island came together for Abby and Dee and Cait for that matter. A fabulous love story that gave this reader a little island fever, and I live on one!

When chef Abby de Messiéres returns to Silver Island with her sister to get their late mother’s affairs in order, she expected to inherit her mother’s bistro along with their childhood home, not to discover a half sister they never knew existed, and a handsome vacationer camped out on her mother’s patio.

Workaholic Aiden Aldridge has been sent to Silver Island on a work-free vacation, armed with a “Let Loose List,” and ordered to get a life by the much-younger sister he raised after the death of their parents. After years of focusing on his sister’s well-being, he’s blindsided by his intense attraction to the gorgeous, free-spirited Abby.

Aiden might not know much about chilling out, but he’s excellent at striking deals. He helps Abby with the restaurant in exchange for her help in tackling the items on his list. Sparks fly as Aiden and Abby work, and play, side by side. Intimate conversations lead to steamy kisses and undeniable passion. But there’s more to Aiden then Abby knows, and when the truth comes out, their new romance is put to the test, as the two find out if true love really can conquer all.

  • Maverick by Leanne Ashers

I love a man who knows what he wants and takes it. The Bigger and Badder they are, the harder they fall. I love it! Bell’s life made my stomach and heart hurt at the same time. Luckily, the Grim Sinners are the good guys and gals that will end the cult that abused her and save others at the same time. This book is action packed and a touching story.

BELL I grew up in a cult, one that kept me completely sheltered from the real life. They even forced me to marry at the age of fourteen.  I was trapped, and life was utter hell until I was offered a way out. I spent months healing and finally being happy for the first time ever.  Then he came into my life.  Maverick rooted himself deep inside my heart from the second I met him. From his cocky grin to his alpha male attitude, I was in love with him.  More importantly, he kept me safe when I needed him most.

MAVERICK The second I laid eyes on her, I knew she was the one I had waited for my whole life. All I saw was her.  But everything came to a head when her past resurfaced.  The second I saw the fear in her eyes, something inside me snapped. It became my life’s mission to find every single person who hurt her.  After all, I am a Grim Sinner for a reason.

    It’s time to Reap.

  • Featherbed by Annabeth Albert

Harrison and his mom left Manhattan to chase his dream of owning a book store and slowing down his life. Finn is a farmer who does it all for everyone rarely doing anything for himself. Harrison soon finds himself not only taking care of Finn, but wanting to and loves doing it. The two start off as “friends” but then become more…just the way I like it.

    Blurb:

When a bookworm on borrowed time meets a younger, free-spirited chicken farmer, sparks and feathers fly…
Harrison Phillip Fletcher, III isn’t supposed to be here. Not in Burlington, Vermont, not running Vino & Veritas, a quaint inclusive bookstore and wine bar, and definitely not still alive, at forty-two. Also not supposed to be here? An unexpected delivery of chickens.

Finn Barnes knows chickens. The burly organic farmer knows all about rare breed poultry, but dealing with a hot, older bookseller is an entirely different matter. City slicker types like Harrison never end up staying in Vermont for the long-term.

They should steer clear of each other. But the flare of attraction is mutual. And somehow amid book discussions and farm tours, they discover plenty in common. Now they’re stealing kisses in Finn’s barn, sneaking out like teens, and burning up the sheets.

What starts as a fling brings very real feelings for two lonely souls, but a future together seems as unlikely as chickens in a bookstore. Feathers may be flying, but learning to trust takes time neither may have. Can they take a leap of faith together before it’s too late?

Featherbed is a stand-alone novel in Sarina Bowen’s World of True North. This opposites-attract, age-gap romance features a low-angst, fluffy—and feathery—romp as a fish out of water discovers the home he never thought he’d find.

  • Breakaway by Kindle Alexander

After reading this book, I DMed Kindle and said, “Fucking Fantastic!”.  I can’t put that on sites like Goodreads or Amazon though.  So here is my review more appropriate for those sites.
I love how Kindle used a Pelaton/Mirror craze and incorporated it into her book.  Dallas and his brothers want to take the world by storm with their BikeBro exercise system.  Little do they know they have gained the attention of very powerful people in the tech industry.  Greer is Alpha all the way through.  When he wins a competition, he is unhappy about it, because he knows that he didn’t win fairly.  Competition can fan passion though and Greer and Dallas certainly have that in spades!  Those of you who are fans of Kindle Alexander, you will be happy to learn that Kindle’s Secret heros make appearances in this book as well.  I can’t tell you how much I love it when books collide like this.  It feels like seeing an old friends and you didn’t know how much you missed them until you saw them again.  Ok, that may have been a little corny, but true.
Read this book, you won’t be disappointed.

Greer Lockhart set out to save the world from itself when he organized his first beach cleanup at the age of twelve. Now, as a uber-successful venture capitalist for eco-friendly startups, he doesn’t let anything get in his way—whether personal or professional. When a new fitness app schedules a site-wide cycle race, Greer’s competitive side won’t let him back down. Not even when his undivided attention turns to the one racer he can’t beat: Biker101.
Dallas Reigns learned a long time ago to keep his head low and his focus forward. He gives his all to a business he started with his brothers, BikeBro. But he worries his all might not be enough if they can’t gain traction before their financial ship sinks. A chance meeting with a hard-hitting venture capitalist is just what they need. Until his resistance is tested when the striking blond man shows interest in more than just his company, challenging all Dallas’s etched-in-stone boundaries.
When the illusion of Dallas’s life threatens to crumble under the weight of his own desire, can he find a way to fortify his iron will, or will Greer help him breakaway from the restraints of his past?

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.
