• Scary Modsters… and Creepy Freaks by Diane Rinella

A fantastical romance involving a girl, the music that fuels her, and her Ouija board.

Rosalyn possesses a sunny personality that is laced with quirks. Although she seeks acceptance in a world where she lives out of time, what she gets is ridiculed for her eclectic wardrobe and unconventional music collection.

One fateful night, Rosalyn bewitches Niles, a stylish man whose offbeat character perfectly complements her own. Unfortunately, he possesses a critical flaw that means relationship suicide for him and pretty much anyone.

While under the influence of insomnia-impaired judgment, Rosalyn summons Rock ‘n Roll deity Peter Lane back from the dead. Not only does he spin her hormones into a frenzy, Peter is also the precarious puzzle piece that brings sense into her world. When Niles learns that he can overcome his life-long challenge by helping Peter avenge his death, how far will he go to secure Rosalyn’s heart?

Ok, I have to admit that the beginning of this book was a little confusing to me.  Then again many books that change time back and forth confuse to me.   But, I kept with it.   About half way through the book, past and present merge and I was able to really enjoy the book.  Not that I didn’t enjoy it before hand, remember the whole flash back thing is my issue, not the story’s issue.

That being said……I really liked the story of Peter, Jane, Niles, and Rosalyn.  Fate is an interesting thing.  Soulmates, reincarnation, revenge, fixing your soul to be with the one you love…..this book has it all!  It was interesting and it makes you think of your life and what you would do to make things right.  Is revenge worth being without half of yourself or the person you love?

If you like stories about finding and being with your soul mate forever (even after your death), then this is the book for you. I really liked this story.  I give it 4 Hearts!

  • Another Author to Watch!

My next author to watch is Caitlyn O’Leary.  Caitlyn is another Siren Author who I have had the pleasure of getting to know recently.  I was asked to review her book, and it was as wonderful as she is!  But I will get more into the story later.  Please let me introduce you to:

    Caitlyn O’Leary!

Caitlyn O’Leary was born and raised in a small town in the Pacific Northwest. She’s been an avid reader all her life. Her earliest creative writing endeavors consisted of “ghost writing” exercises in which she pretended to be her younger brothers and sisters when she did their homework assignments, before they turned them in as their own. Years in corporate America honed her ability to manipulate words by day, while at night she continued to read everything she could get her hands on, including many, many steamy romances!

Now, happily married to her long, tall Texan and living in Southern California, Caitlyn has finally found the time to write erotic Happily Ever Afters for Siren. She enjoys swimming, travelling, writing, babysitting her nieces and nephews, spending time with friends and family and doing lots of “research” for her upcoming novels with her husband.

    Trusting Chance

Josie Decker and Chance Reynolds knew each other years ago when they were in the same foster home, before Josie’s birth mother reclaimed her. Now, Chance and his best friend, Sam Booth an Afghan war veteran are living in Fate Harbor Washington, when Josie re-establishes ties with her foster parents and opens a bakery in the quaint town. Chance realizes that growing up with her birth mother has left Josie with physical and emotional scars and a deep belief that she is unworthy of love.

Fate Harbor is very accepting of triad alliances, and Chance believes that the relationship that will ultimately heal Josie is one that includes both he and Sam. Sam’s recent trauma, fighting for his country, has left him beyond hurt. Chance has despaired of saving the brother of his heart, but finding Josie again has given him hope, and a plan. Chance believes the three of them can make the perfect future together.

After growing up way too soon and raising your sisters, what do you do with your life? Chance, who has never forgotten about Josie, knows exactly what she should do, and he will help her do it. Sam always knew that Chance would be there for him whenever he needed him. After being injured in the war, Chance proves that Sam was right. When Sam meets Josie, it just proved you just always trust Chance. Right from the beginning, Chase, Sam and Josie’s relationship was as seductive as Josie’s Cinnamon Rolls! I totally give this 4 Hearts!

I cannot wait for the next installment of Fate Habor which will be published on May 15, 2014, Protecting Olivia

  • New Authors to Watch

Recently I have had the pleasure of meeting up with two new authors on Facebook.  Since I am always looking for new authors to read, I took it literally and decided to review these two new Sirenistas, Elle Boon and Kelsie Belle!  They are my new authors to watch!

An interesting fact (well at least to me), not only are they new to Siren Publishing, but both these books are about female club owners.  That is a fact I did not realize until I sat down to actually review these books.  But….I digress.

The first author I would like to introduce you to is Elle Boon!

I’m a full-time wife and mother of two who has loved to read and write since childhood. I survived cancer and decided I could do anything, setting personal goals then and there. Four years later, after meeting many wonderful writers who allowed me to beta read for them, whom I can now call friends, I decided to write a book. Several years later I’ve attained my first goal, becoming a published author.

I love to write and have all kinds of stories in my head waiting to be written. The best part about my new journey is that if I don’t like it, I can re-write it, unlike real life, so I always make sure there’s a happy ending.

I’m creating new worlds, and I hope you all enjoy them with me. I can guarantee you’ll always have a hero or two you’ll love, and a heroine you’ll want to be.

Max and Malcolm King had been part of an Elite group of twelve men created by Zeus, called the Ravens of War. When they were no longer needed they were sent to Earth in hopes they’d find happiness. After hundreds of years, they‘d given up hope of finding their Fated, until they met Selena Ramos.

But the Gods aren’t done with them. Zeus needs them to find his lost daughter and time is running out for all of them. As the three lovers are consumed with passion, they find themselves thrust in a fight for their lives.

Cronus the dethroned King of the Gods has found the missing Goddess and plans to use her as the ultimate weapon for revenge. He’ll use her to regain the throne on Mount Olympus, killing his son Zeus at the same time. Max and Malcolm are willing to do anything, even share Selena, but they will die before they give her up.

Ms. Boon takes a greek myth and spins it into a wonderful love story.  Two hot has Hades Ravens sent to Earth to find a Goddess, literally find the woman of their dreams.  Selena is a successful bar owner who has been having awsome dreams without the payoff.  When she finally meets Max and Mal, it is like they are heaven sent.

This is Elle’s first book and I loved it.  It kept me interested.  I rooted for Max and Mal to save the damsel in distress and rooted for Salena for not needing them to save her. This book was as well written as any veteran author.  I can’t wait to see what happens with Tam.  I can’t wait to see what the real deal is with Jaklyn.

Selena’s Men gets 4 Hearts from me!  An excellent first book for Ms. Boon!

I am highly anticipating the release of Elle’s second book in the series, Two for Tamara!

The second author I wanted you to meet is Kelsie Belle!

Kelsie Belle wears many hats – wife, mother and teacher are just a few. But the erotic romance writer hat is by far her favorite. She has been a storyteller for as long as she can remember, many characters live inside her overactive mind and a thousand stories come to life in her head every day. She’s been writing down her sweet romances ever since she was a teenager but in her early twenties, Ms. Belle became interested in erotic romance novels and her own stories took a turn for the sensual since then.

Kelsie is wildly gregarious by nature. She considers herself ‘forever 21’ and enjoys reading contemporary romance, Science fiction and fantasy, listening to music and dancing like there’s no tomorrow. A caffeine addict that lives life from one coffee mug to the next, she’s always on the go, ready and waiting for the next adventure.

Left broken and bleeding, night club owner and accountant Cassidy Samson did her best to pick up the pieces of her broken self and move on with her life. She vowed never to let anyone get close to her heart again…until the potent force of a pair of green eyes threatens to bring her to her knees.

Hired as the new guitarist in the band at the Escape Lounge, Cameron Chase is intrigued and aroused by Cassidy’s tough-as-nails attitude and sets out to barrel through the formidable wall she has constructed around her heart, to get to the real woman behind the façade. He agrees to play by her rules in a reckless game of lust in hopes of finding love.

But will Cam be able to chase away the demons of Cassidy’s past that threaten to consume her? Will his love be strong enough to make her whole again?

Cassidy is a very well liked co-club owner who is “broken” because of an event in her past.  Cameron is the new hot band member (and professor is his day job) who is compelled not only to try to “fix” Cassidy, but to capture her heart.

Playing for Keeps is one of those books where you can see where it is going, but you really look forward toward the journey.  My heart broke for Cass.  Knowing her story, I couldn’t wait for Cameron to break through her boundries and into her heart.  The two together really rock!

I really enjoyed this book.  I especially liked the fact that Cameron was from Long Island!  I give Playing for Keeps 4 Hearts!

Kelsie’s second book, Sweet Serendipity, comes out May 13th on BookStrand!  I already pre-ordered it!

I hope you give these ladies a read.  I am looking forward to their very long careers as writers!

    Ciao!
