  • Devious Savior by Lynn Burke

We have been wondering for a while what exactly was wrong with the ginger VP of the Vicious Vipers (VV).  Now we can!!!  I was really eager  for this book.  Ricky tried to self medicate when he lost his soulmate.  Broken and lost Ricky is finally shown tough love by his brother forcing him to leave or stop drinking.  Ricky decides both is in order to escape the past.  He had no idea he would find his savior in Las Vegas.
Casey is an independent Daddy’s girl, who knows what she wants.  Who she wants is Ricky.  I love the “twist” to the story and how it related to the VV.  They were meant to be at first sight.  You will root for them from their first gaze and for Ricky’s soul to heal and allow him to love again.

I was responsible for my soulmate’s death, and twenty years later, the demons of guilt still try to suffocate me. Drowning them with liquor doesn’t work, so I run, leaving everything—my colors, my brothers, and my addictions behind. Fate brings me to a place that matches my dried out soul—Vegas.

A ray of pole-dancing sunshine breaks through my darkness, giving me hope for a future. An independent, stubborn woman, Casey doesn’t need me to be her knight in shining armor, but I can’t give up my addiction to her.

She’s an inescapable temptation. A curvy glass of thirst-quenching water. And she’s off limits, under the protection of the Vegas Chapter. When Casey’s life is placed in my hands, will my lies and her manipulation be our undoing or will facing our insecurities save us both?

*This is the sixth book in the Vicious Vipers MC series and may be unsuitable for someone under 18 years of age. HEA guaranteed, however, secondary characters make appearances in other’s stories. Reading in order is recommended.

  • A Sweet Man by Jamie Reese

Ok, really love this author and her Men of Halfway House series.  Although this book is considered a “standalone” book, I highly suggest you read the other 6 books first.  The secondary characters in this book actually have had their stories told in the previous books.  That being said, I love me a story where we have romance, healing of broken hearts and food.  Yes I said food.  Whether it be cooking in a restaurant or a bakery like Ben does, I really enjoy it.
Fun fact, I learned American Sign Language while I was in high school at Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf on Long Island’s North Shore.  Gorgeous old mansion made into a school.  I always thought sign language was beautiful, and I was happy to learn it.  I wish I would have kept it up, but alas, I have forgotten a lot of it.  So for me to envision Ben “talking” to everyone was quite easy.  I enjoy when a different element is brought into a story like Ben’s deafness.  The fact that Bull already knew how to communicate with Ben, was refreshing and kept the story flowing.
I really enjoyed this story of second (or even third) chances to make things right and love at first sight.

Two men. One sweet dream of family and forever.
Gabriel “Bull” del Toro loves his fast-paced globe-trotting job, but aches for an honest relationship and the trust that comes with it. After a few too many heartbreaks, he’s nearly given up hope of finding that special someone.
    Until Ben.

Born deaf, Ben is used to working twice as hard for what he wants, but risking a newfound friendship on an impossible dream is scary. After all, there’s one lesson he’s learned: everything is temporary—freedom, friends, even family.

Neither man expects the undeniable spark between them or for every moment together to fuel that connection. For the first time, a happily ever after is within reach, but they must trust that the dream of acceptance, family, and a place to call home is more than a sweet fantasy.

    It can be forever.

**A Sweet Man is an interconnected standalone within The Men of Halfway House series. It is a story about the power of love, the meaning of family, and never giving up on a dream. It includes wounded hearts, an age-gap romance, and enough cake and sweetness to give you a toothache.

Jaime Reese is the alter ego of an artist who loves the creative process of writing, just not about herself. Fiction is far more interesting. She has a weakness for broken, misunderstood heroes and feels everyone deserves a chance at love and life. An avid fan of a happy ending, she believes those endings acquired with a little difficulty are more cherished.

  • Three Strikes by Allana Walker

I read this book in one day. It is rough to read some of it, but it had me in tears through it too. I don’t like that it ended on a cliffhanger, but I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens between Striker and Daria. Striker fits the stereotype of bada** biker. Complete Richard if you get my drift. However, one dalliance with Daria, and he is hooked but doesn’t allow her into his heart. It isn’t until years later that they finally get together to be a family. But the biker life doesn’t always allow for an HEA. That is where we are left. Finally liking Striker, and our hearts hurting for Daria. So when is the next book coming out?

From the moment I turned fifteen, my life was planned out right down to the man I was to marry one day.

Until one night changed my life for good.

Welcome to the screwed up world of Daria Denver.

Strike One; She walks into my Clubhouse uninvited.

Strike Two; She steals from me.

Strike Three; She keeps a nine-year-old secret from me.

Daria Denver will learn never to piss off a Demons Disciples.

    Especially me, Striker Xanders.

Allana lives in Dundee, Scotland with her husband and two daughters.  She has always had a passion for reading and until a few years ago, started secretly writing. She had always debated sharing it but never had the confidence to do so, until now. In her words; ‘Life is too short to regret things we could have done and wishing the should’ve, would’ve, could’ve’s.  She wants to show, not only her daughters but to everyone else, that you can do whatever you want when you put your mind to it.  She loves reading a range of genres, particularly MC, Mafia, and romance.  Other than reading and writing, Allana loves to help out other authors, watching WWE, dancing around the room with her daughters, or at the cinema with her husband. She also loves to bake, it’s her stress reliever.

  • Brutal Beast by Lynn Burke

If you are like me,, and have read this series from the beginning (which I would hope you have), Vigil has always been someone I wanted to know more about as the President of the Vicious Vipers.  To know that he mows his own lawn and doesn’t have one of the prospects do it was interesting to me.  Made him more like a real man.  I felt for him having to deal with his brother. and how he looked at the couples at the club and have feelings.  He endeared himself to me then.  They way he interacts with  Dillon, who I love to death, really showed his soft side.  The fact that he had a thing for Dillon’s mom had nothing to do with it.  Michelle is hiding out from her past.  And of course she ended up in the backyard of what she was running from.  Thankfully, Vigil was nothing like her ex.  Vigil is just hard enough to make Michelle’s heart flutter, yet soft enough to fall in love with her.  I really enjoyed this story.  I look forward to Ricky’s story.

I’m a no-filter, use fists first kind of man who’s suspicious of everyone and everything. As the president of the Vicious Vipers MC, it’s my duty to protect my brothers, and I take pleasure in doing so.
When a sassy woman who heats my blood moves in next door, I tell myself I don’t want the baggage she brings, even if he is a respectful kid who weasels his way into my heart. She’s jaded. A stubborn, lying wildcat I can’t resist, and I’m determined to find the truth of her identity and claim her.
But I’ve got secrets of my own, long buried in the woods of Maine, that unearthed would define me as the brutal beast she fears me to be.
She’s mine to protect—even if my sins are brought to light, destroying any hope for our future.
*This is the fifth book in the Vicious Vipers MC series and may be unsuitable for someone under 18 years of age. HEA guaranteed, however, secondary characters make appearances in other’s stories. Reading in order is recommended.

  • Rafe by Sawyer Bennett

A touching story of coming home. Although Rafe’s reason for coming home to the Fury was a sad one, for Callie and he, it was a second chance. Their fire burned hot too soon. Rafe felt it would be better as his career started if he set Callie free. Boy would I be PO’ed if my guy did that to me without my knowing why. Luckily she doesn’t make him beg….much…for forgiveness. A really good shorter story with a happy ending.

    About RAFE:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sawyer Bennett comes a new story in her Arizona Vengeance series…

I was living my dream until one phone call changed everything.

As the second line center for the Arizona Vengeance, my mind has been on one thing—helping my team bring home a championship. But that all changed when I found out my dad had cancer and only months to live. In that moment, nothing mattered more than getting home to North Carolina to be by his side. That meant asking for the unthinkable—a trade to the Carolina Cold Fury.

Now I’m home and when I’m not on the ice with my new team, I’m helping care for my dad. And in the midst of my grief, I find comfort from the one person I never expected.

Calliope Ramirez stole my heart at a very young age. The beautiful, smart, headstrong girl next door, she was my first… everything. She has never forgiven me for leaving her, believing that I chose hockey over a future together. What she doesn’t understand is that every decision I made was for her, and I’ve never given up hope that one day we’d be together again.

Watching my dad slip away is a harsh reminder of how short life can be, and having Calliope by my side makes me realize I was a damn fool before. That changes starting right now. Calliope Ramirez is mine and I’m not going to waste the second chance that I’ve been given.
