     My Review

Ryan learned the hard way not to mix business with pleasure.  Three years after a messy breakup, Ryan does all he can to to have history repeat itself with Z.  Z has been in love with Ryan for years.  First he couldn’t have him because he was in a relationship.  When that ended, Z knew Ryan wasn’t ready to start another romance.  Now, Z and Ryan can no longer deny the attraction they have for each other.  When the owner’s for Sniper 1 decide to through the two together, Z takes the opportunity to finally make Ryan his.

I absolutely love Z.  He is the epitome of a badass with a heart of gold.  I was fully prepared to take Z for myself.  Well I don’t have the right parts for Z, but I don’t care.  I love how everyone knew how RT and Z felt for each other, but they didn’t.  It is also a breath of fresh air that the fathers played matchmaker for a change.  I see them doing it again soon.

    Synopsis

Ryan Trexler has devoted his entire life to his family’s security business. And now that he’s slated to take over the reins for the company, RT knows that his life is only going to get more complicated. Add in the fact that he’s lusting over one of the men who works for him and RT knows that there are some serious tough times ahead.

Zachariah Tavoularis—nicknamed Z—has been employed by Sniper 1 Security for a decade. Despite being known as the most loyal enforcer outside of family, Z also has a reputation of being quite the playboy, though that was based more on rumor than fact. When an assignment comes up that forces the two of them to work together, Z knows it’s time to show RT he’s not the man he thinks he is.

Can they complete the mission, despite the fact that it puts them in a tenuous situation, bringing them closer than either of them ever expected? And will Z allow RT to convince him that they can never be together, no matter how much they both want it?

  • Bonded 2 by Sara York

    My Review
In this installment of the Bonded Series, we find Liam going home to attend his grandmother’s funeral.  What happens when he goes home is something else altogether.  Finding himself in a bad place, it is up to the loves of his life to save him.  Greg and Chris move heaven and Earth to find Liam.
Samuel is tasked at helping the trio.  He sees the love that the three have and is extremely jealous of it, but not in a bad way.  When he goes for coffee one day, who knew he would meet his match.
I have to say out of the two books, this is by far my favorite.  I am wondering if there will be a 3.
    Synopsis

    About the Author

Writing is Sara’s life. The stories fight to get out, often leaving her working on four or five books at once. She can’t help but write. Along with her writing addiction she has a coffee addiction. Some nights, the only reason she stops writing and goes to sleep is for the fresh brewed coffee in the morning.

Sara enjoys writing twisted tales of passion, anger, and love with a good healthy dose of lust thrown in for fun. Almost a quarter of a century ago Sara met her lover, falling for him after knowing him for ten minutes. Sara’s passion for him comes out in her stories, mixing with her passion for life, love, and good times, flowing onto the page and becoming tales from the heart.

  • Ryan’s Love (Sawyer Brothers #1) by C.A. Harms

    My Review

This book had me crying from the Prologue.  Only a CA Harms book can do that.  Losing a spouse is difficult.  Losing a spouse when you have a child together is just heart wrenching.  Ryan lost his other half and has only been holding it together for his daughter.  For two years he hasn’ t even looked at another woman.  That changes the minute he sees Amber kicking her flat tire.

Looking to start life anew, Amber relocates and takes over her recently deceased grandmother’s bakery with her best friend.  After being cheated on by her ex, she never thought she would ever fall for anyone again.  Who knew getting a flat tire could change her view.

This book is a sweet, touching story not only of  love lost, but a new love found.  My favorite book is the bonus chapter.  The book was told though the point of views of Ryan and Amber.  In this bonus chapter, it is in the POV of Ryan’s daughter, Olivia.  It is like a breath of fresh air and she lets us have an insight to Bailey and Jackson’s Story.

    I can’t wait!!!!

    Synopsis
One of the hardest things I have ever had to do was bury my wife.

The second hardest thing would be watching my 12 year old daughter fall to her knees as they lowered her mother into the ground to rest.

A heart wrenching vision that will forever be etched in my mind.

Claire was my best friend, she had been since we were barely old enough to talk. I always knew, one day, I would marry her. I think I may have even told her that a few times while we were growing up.

Never did I think I would lose her so suddenly.

    I knew at that moment…

Our life would never be the same again…

  • Beyond the Surface (The Breakfast Club #1) by Felice Stevens

    My Review

I am the wife of a Police Officer who was there on 9/11.  That fact made this book a little more emotional for me.  This is a story of learning to embrace yourself; not letting people dictate your life; and second chances.

Julian lost his best friend and first love a long time ago.  Now, with the help of a mole, his designs were stolen and his show was deemed a disaster.  Just when he thought his life couldn’t get any worse.  He come face to face with the love of his life.  He let him go once, and he refuses to let him go again.

Nick loved Julian, however fear of what others would think of him made him run from Julian.  Then the unthinkable happened and all of his friends died in 9/11 while injuring himself.  Survivor’s guilt is part of his reality.  He is now teaching instead of doing and he finds himself alone.  When his sister drags him to a club, he comes face to face with his biggest regret.  Not that he regretted loving Julian, but that he didn’t love him enough to stay with him.

Such a touching story about loss, love, and second chances.  I had tears in my eyes through a few points of this story.  Most touching was when Nick spoke about 9/11.  It brought to mind my husband’s story and my heart just ached for him.  A beautiful story and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

    Synopsis
On 9/11, firefighter Nick Fletcher’s world changed forever. He’s unable to rid himself of survivor’s guilt, made worse by the secret he hides from his family and co-workers. Nick’s life is centered around helping burn victims, until he is reunited with the man he’d once loved but pushed away. Now he has a second chance at a love he thought lost forever.

For fashion designer Julian Cornell, appearances mean everything. His love affairs are strictly casual, and the only thing he cares about is making his clothing line a success. A chance encounter with the man he loved long ago has Julian thinking for the first time in years there may be more to life than being seen at the best parties and what designer labels to wear.

When Julian’s world takes an unexpected turn, it’s Nick who helps him regain perspective on what matters most in life. Julian, in turn, helps Nick accept who he is and understand he isn’t responsible for tragedies he couldn’t prevent. Lost love found can be even sweeter the second time around and after all the years apart, both men learn to look beyond the surface to find the men they are inside.

    About the Author

I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. I started reading traditional historical romances when I was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that my interest in romance novels became renewed.

But somewhere along the way, my tastes shifted. While I still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, I began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. Once I picked up her first, I became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, I knew I wanted to write my own.

I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
