     My Review

Clash, a novella, is the first book in this Legal Affairs trilogy , and is the story of Cal and Macy.  Cal has hurt people he love, has been hurt by someone he thought he loved.  Then there is Macy.  To him, she is only a stuck up rich bitch. Unfortunately , she is also hot as hell.

Macy never had a good relationship with her family.  She medicates herself using sex.  I mean she even screwed her psychologist for goodness sake.  The one guy she would never want is Cal.  Except, he is really hot.  After a spat with the caterer, Macy want to  “medicate” herself, and who is around willing and waiting?  YUP!!  After hot time in the pantry, she does the one thing she never does…..invites him for a second reandeau.

He is torn if he should call her.  She is curious to know why he hasn’t called her.  Now that he has to represent her and they are in a meeting she asks and then…….a freaking cliffhanger!!! Nooooooooooo!!!  I guess I will have to wait for Grind (releasing on 4/21/15) and Yield  (releasing on 5/5/15) to find out what happens next!  Thankfully both Grind and Yield are full length novels.

    Synopsis

    Clash (verb): to conflict, disagree.

It might be fair to say that I despise Macy Carrington. She slings insults with precision, not caring about the destruction she leaves in her wake. We clash in a battle of wills every time we’re around each other, and yet… I still fantasize about being lodged deep within her body.

Clash (verb): to come together or collide.

I have never encountered someone that grates me the way Cal Carson does. His pompous, arrogant demeanor. A holier-than-thou attitude. Any interaction with “Saint Cal” ends in a verbal clash of epic proportions, and yet… there’s no one I’d rather have in my bed than him.

Clash (noun): a battle, fight or skirmish.

Her breathy moans mingle with the sound of our flesh coming together, clashing with the silence that surrounds us, dispelling any notions I once had about Macy Carrington.

Maybe I can break down her walls if we can call a truce to this battle.

He whispers filthy words in my ear, provoking feelings I never knew were possible. The burning desire in his touch clashes with everything I once believed about Cal Carson.

Maybe he can be the balm I need to soothe my broken soul, if only temporarily.

  • Shaken Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

Casey Markham is a man-eater in a rut. Swearing off relationships may keep her heart safe, but she’s beginning to question if her casual flings will ever leave her satisfied. She’s wondering if it’s finally time to let go of the past and stop letting history control her future.

Bad boy biker, Tenn Jennings can’t get Casey off his mind. A chance encounter with the beautiful blond has left its mark, and now he’s determined to prove her wrong about everything she thought she knew about men.

It’s safe to say… Casey Markham has met her match.
This was a perfect ending to this series.  We all thought Casey was shallow, some of us did.  The others knew something was up but we didn’t know why.  Now we do, can’t tell you what happened to her to make her that way.  You will have to read the book and find out.

If I have said it once, I have said it many times, I love a badass guy with a heart of gold.  Tenn is so that man.  A biker, cowboy, marine, rich guy, he is all that AND a bag of chips.  And he has a 14 year old daughter he loves with everything he is.  What else could you want in a guy?!

He was the absolute perfect guy for Casey.  Patient, thoughtful and oh so sexy.  I think I fell in love with him before she did.

My favorite part of the book was the horseback ride…..oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Synopsis

Free-spirited Nymph believes in going after what she wants and that means Nate. When she tells him she’s not interested in marriage then offers him a D/s relationship it’s a proposal he can’t refuse. She’ll submit in the bedroom but be his equal partner in their pursuit of Mendez’ drug cartel.

When their mission leads them to Rendezvous, Texas, Nate is forced to reveal his identity to his sons. Now he and Nymph have two battles on their hands—stop Mendez and get the Ramsey brothers to let him be a part of their lives.

    My Review

This is the book where we find out the backstory and blanks are filled in when it comes to our favorite doms.  Nate and Nymph were meant to be together.  Not only did they fall hard for each other but they compliment each other like chocolate  and strawberries.  In the bedroom, they burn up the sheets or whatever surface they are using and in the field they are totally badass.

I don’t think I could stay away from my boys the way Nate did.  He is a selfless man.  And Nymph is just da bomb.  I would love her as a step mom.

    The hospital sex was hot!!!

     My Review

I have a dog.  His name is Max, and although it wasn’t my decision to get him, I love him like he was my son.  To lose him would be (will be) devastating.  I have had two dogs that have passed away. One (Pepe) when I was in junior high, and one (Buffy) when I was in my first full-time job.  Granted, those two were my “brothers”, but I felt their loss deeply. This book made me remember them and I miss them.

Maggie is a grief counselor for people who have lost their pets.  When she moves across the country to start a new life  Her best friend and dog, Toby, dies shortly after the move, leading Maggie to run her counselling business in her home because his loss triggered agoraphobia.  A new client forces Maggie to face her fears, so that she can help her find her dog or at least deal with his loss.

Maggie finds more than her courage by the end of the book she finds love in more ways than one.

Although I felt the beginning of the book was a little drawn out, I did enjoy this book.  There is a romance in this book, and not just about a dog.  It takes a while to happen, but once it does, it is sweet.

    My Review

Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love anthologies.  So, when I found out about this  particular collaboration, there was no way I wasn’t going to be a part of it.  Kindle Alexander, Toni Aleo, Sawyer BennettBrenda Rothert(Goodreads Author), Chelle Bliss (Goodreads Author), and Eden Butler (Goodreads Author) are all authors I love.  I mean out of the six I belong on half of their street teams.  That is how much I  adore these women.

Each story takes place in New Orleans and has a connection with a Hospital.  But my favorite part of this particular anthology is that it is cross-genre.  M/F, M/M and interracial.  I have heard people are not happy about reading M/M or whatever in this book, but to them I say that this anthology reflects life!  If you go to the movies and look at the people around you, you would be surprised at  who you see.  Love is Love people.  If you are upset about M/M, either skip that story or just get over it.  Ditto for whatever story you have a hang up on.

I loved certain stories more than some of the others, but in general this was a really great anthology and I highly recommend you to read it.   5 Hearts!
